Weekend, gone for a few days!

This Weekend:

I will be gone tomorrow morning through Sunday, so I won't be able to blog and will have to find something equally entertaining to keep me occupied during my meds.

Today, I had a busy day; I ran errands, babysat this morning, judged theatre and interior design at the 4H fair this afternoon. I came home started packing and went back later to judge the fashion revue/show.

Of course, I come home to continue packing, but I want to pack all my clothes. I keep thinking, "oooh I might want this" or "oh, that's really cute!" Apparently, the fashion show, got my mind in fashion mode!

(packing and unpacking, packing and unpacking...)

Okay, I took out a lot of the clothes I didn't need. And I got everything into 2 bags. For a 2 night/3 day trip that sounds sad. But with Med stuff, I'm proud of my packing capabilities (Yay, for Girl Scouts).

bag on left: clothes (pjs, reg outfits, jogging outfits, cute outfit for going out), hair/tolietries (see my aussie hair spray!) pills in the mesh pocket, ipod, etc.

bag on right: big compartment: 8 cans of stomach feeding (which is why my bags weigh SO MUCH!), bags, feeding pump, tube and syringe (connector), med tape, therapy machine, accapella machine, altera therapy machine (for Cayston), nebulizer cups(4), and anything I left off the list! smaller compartment: shoes for wedding, shoes for regular, comfy cute shoes, and running shoes. (I got it down to 4 pair shoes and my flip flops that I'm wearing there!)

Just imagine, last fall when I went to Vegas I had to pack double the meds and feeding cans! Seriously, I can't imagine what a week long vacation would like (in luggage) for me! YIPES! I can barely manage my two bags, purse, and small cooler (for refrigerated meds)!

Yep, I'm all set! I'm so excited to spend the weekend with my friend, Dan! Spencer and Kayla's Wedding is Saturday, which will be lots of fun and really nice to see some friends from U of I! I haven't been to Quincy to visit Dan since Feb! At least I have a car this time, so I don't have to manage all the luggage at the train station :-)

So Everyone have A GREAT WEEKEND! and I will be back to blogging when I get back! :-) ps. keep my friend, Laura in your thoughts & prayers. She is still in the hospital, recovering well from surgery (had her port replaced), but still pretty sick!

Today's BIG Appointment

I discussed last week about my recent struggles & goals. I have been dealing with a lot all at once! Family planning (update on that in 2 weeks), my Grandma's funeral, lower lung function. Through it all I have remained very compliant with my meds! My health is VERY important to me. So this last weekend I took my vest machine, wabi sterilizer system , and packs of ensure to my parent's for the weekend. I wanted to make sure I did everything. While it was a sad occasion, it was still pleasant seeing almost all of the family together again. Actually 27 out of 29 of the cousins made it to the funeral. Grandpa is in the middle of the picture (can you find me?) LOL   On top of my medications I have been doing some dancing & walking, but no jogging or anything. I'm still counting calories on my fitbit (hitting over 3000) a day (& 40 grams of protein, 50 grams of fat at least). I knew I was feeling a bit better than before, but wasn't sure what to expec...

Beginning of the Year Troubles

Normal "beginning of the year" troubles for Andrew and I only really consist of one topic: Our Deductible [please no Obama, or government bashing] I've always had high deductibles ALL MY LIFE (no matter who was president). The problem is I hit my deductible within the first week of January. In the past I have always prepared for this and since I was still on my father's insurance (up until last year) he typically paid the bill (at least for medical stuff). And in the future Andrew & I won't have such an issue with this. We will be able to save and plan ahead for the $3,000 (for my deductible, his is another $3,000). However, this year was more difficult. We saved all 2013-2014 for our wedding & honeymoon, plus had our deductible saved too. But Real Estate was a pricey career to start, I've put almost $5,000 into it (classes, dues, licensing, exam, advertising, etc). So needless to say our deductible disappeared, thanks to my new career. Wh...

Sleepover and upcoming Clinic!

Sleepover & Clinic is soon! Every summer my cousin Kazia (now 13yrs old) comes to stay with my mom for a week or two. And usually I will have Kazia stay the night a couple times at my apt. Kazia stayed at my house the last two nights. The first night we just ate pizza, watched a movice, and fell asleep early. ( Picture of Hot n Cold Makeover-which while she was writting H and C on my face, It felt like H and O...I was glad to see it wasn't.lol) But last night we rented some movies, did makeovers, and ate junk food, all while I was hooked up to my stomach feeding. It reminded me of when I used to stay at Aunt Karla's (Kazia's Mom's) house in the summer. I grew up very close to Kazia's sister, Devahn. Devahn and I were always spending summer at each other's place. We are tight as cousins can be. We spent a lot of time hanging out with a couple older cousins too, mostly Patricia and Mary. Some of Patricia and I's outings are hilarious, but that's ...
