My Dad Deserves More Than 1 Day!

Happy Fathers' Day to ALL the Fathers out there!

I wanted to post a list to why I'm sooo thankful for my dad (its faster, bit more fun, and I gotta get ready for my Dad's Cookout still)!!!

Top 15 (10 isn't enough..lol) reasons Dad should get more than a day of celebration:

15. He loves meeting people, making friends, and is quite social.
14. When something goes wrong, he is the person that can say the right thing to make me smile :-)
13. Is always honest.
12. Few yrs ago, he gave me HIS car, (so i could get back and forth to work/play practices) He rode his bike to work and back (he enjoys it too tho)
11. Best Sense of Humor!
10. He never complains, ever!
9. Growing up my Dad worked 6am-3pm at one job and 4:30-10pm at another.
8. Dad still managed to go to 99.9% of my performances
7. He is the least judgemental person ever, he talks to & helps everyone!
6. He is a pro at making doctors, insurance companies, & hospitals do what needs to be done!
5. When he has extra days left he can take off work, he uses them to work on the Farm (helping out Grandpa & my Uncle).
4. Even with all the stress from Medical bills, procedures, etc. People will still tell you he is the funniest and most sincere guy. (My friends call him "Da Man")
3. He helps neighbors with cutting trees, picking up after storms, taking out trash cans, etc.
2. When I was growing up, he'd save his Vacation days to spend them in hospital room, sleeping on a cot. :-(
1. I know I can always count on him, He'd do anything for my Mother, my Sister, and I.

Truely,  I am very thankful for my Dad, he is the most respectful, loyal, hard-working person I know!
Love you, Dad!

Leaving on an Airplane, don't know when I'll be..oh, wait I return on Sunday!

VACATION YAY! Tomorrow I head to my uncles' and stay there, then Thursday morning, EARLY in the morning, we are headed to the airport! We are flying into Buffalo, NY and spending Thursday at Niagara Falls! Friday and Saturday I have no clue what we are doing! I know there is a surprise for me. But I'm not sure what it is. All I know is I'm soo excited to go! Last Fall I went to Las Vegas with my friend Amanda! It was soo much fun and had been like decade..seriously 10+ years...since I had been on vacation (well more than wknd trips to see friends who live within a 10 hr drive, hee hee Kym!) When I get back from my trip this weekend, I will post about it too! I just have to pack a little more when I go places and make sure to do my meds. On top of the regular, clothes, etc that most people pack  I will also pack: therapy machine 5 nebulizer cups  28 vials of medicine for my nebulizers over 150 pills I will take during the wknd 16 cans of stomach...

Daily Compliance & Arthritis (video too)

The Big Topic: (let download for video below) Lots of people in the CF community talk about being compliant with their meds. It's really important, trust me I've seen the difference. I know some CFers keep track of the number of days in a row they stay compliant, but I don't keep track exactly. Why? It upsets me too much when I miss one and have to start over. I'm very competitive (which is funny, considering I've never been in sports). But more than competitive, I'm really tough on myself.  So instead of counting days, I just do all the meds I can actually do. So since my hospitalization in January I can say I've done all the meds I could do. Why can't I do all my meds. Lots of reasons. If I'm visiting someone, one spills & I forget to bring extra. If the insurance or pharmacy hold up my refill an extra day or two (causing me to lose 1 or 2 days worth of that med). So as long as I physically have the medication I do the med. That's...

LOTS, LOTS, LOTS to Tell!

Doing What I Can: People can tell me " Wow, how do you keep up with all that" (referring to all my meds). Sometimes people tell me "That's so awesome that you are doing all that".... Well, I guess, but not really. I just do what the doctors tell me, I know its the best chance I have to living a longer fuller and better quality of life. Plus I have lot of help from Andrew, family, and friends! Right now the main thing I'm working on is: 1. Keeping my lungs at 56% (since my last appointment ) AND 2. following the dietary restrictions the GI specialist gave me (read about that appt here ) & I'm keeping my Food Journal for him to look at. Here's how that is going: Okay...  For the last 7 days I've had no meat in my diet. I really miss my meat and to be honest it didn't help a lot. This week starting today I'm no dairy for 7 days. Then I'm no meat and dairy... Then no gluten for a week. I go back to the specialist in 5 weeks. I...
