Weekend with Dan!

This weekend was my friend Spencer's Wedding. Which is in the town next to where my friend Dan lives. So I drove there Friday and stayed with Dan this weekend!

I had a lot of fun! I always do when I'm hanging out with Dan! Even though we were pretty busy and had lots of fun, I still made time for my meds and even got a jog in! The street he lives on has a ton of historic homes and I loved looking at them, and even ended taking some pictures!

The wedding was really fun too! Spencer and Kayla came out into the reception hall singing to each other, pretty darn cute! It was nice seeing everyone! Dan and I got to swing dance quite a bit too! I had a great weekend last weekend and I know next weekend will be just as eventful!

Next weekend is my first 5K, then I'm driving to Peoria to attend a Bags Tournament that Dream Factory is hosting, I'll help out there, then head to Champaign-Urbana! My friend Alex is musical director for Rent! So I'm going to that and hanging out with my old roomie, Stacey, before she moves to Kansas City! I'm also going to stop on my way home at my friend Sarah's!

Busy,Busy, Busy. But fun,fun,fun!

Updates Galore!

Big News, Big Times, Big Change: I had my post hospital Doctor's appointment on April 21st and it went well. I posted a video on my CF facebook page. My weight is back on track, heading up. Also, my lung function was around 55%, so that's almost my baseline. I got to take my needle out that night. OH BOY!! I loved being needle free! Whoohoo no more IVs!!!!! In the last week I have been super busy with a few different things. 1. Work. I have a new client AND I had all my post licensing webinars & exams this last week! 2. More CF Foundation Volunteer work. I held a presentation in my home town, where I discussed CF, the different mutations & severity of classes, as well as fundraising for great strides. I talked about the history of the CF foundation, care centers, and more about our local IL CF fundraisers. Overall, it wasn't a big turn out, so I was a little bummed. My hometown has always supported my CF cause, so it was disappointing not to have a good numb...

Less is More

And I'm not talking about the new hit show "Tidying up with Marie Kondo," although I DO love to purge items and be minimalist as possible. I'm talking about juggling life. Having a career, being a foster mom, with a chronic illness like cystic fibrosis can make it feel like I'm juggling 10 items at a time. I think I'm finally getting an idea of what I need to do! I sleep 9:00 pm-6:30 am (yes, full 9.5 hours) and I need them. I do nebulizer treatments, pills, and clean medical equipment for 4 hours a day. Between getting the kiddo(s) off/on bus at 8am and noon, making meals, cleaning, errands. It doesn't leave a lot of time for: career, family, volunteering, and other aspects like appointments (both medical and fostering). I'm not complaining. I'm SUPER lucky to have a family and career. Plus, I'm fairly healthy and stable despite my cystic fibrosis. I have been doing awesome at managing all my meds. SUPER THANKFUL for that! Especially consi...

Updates!

 Hey everyone! Sorry it’s been a while. Covid struggles have been all around and we have been focusing our on our kiddo and current life situations (jobs, home, everything really). We have been posting regularly on the Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CherizCFPage). We will keep you updated on there for now,  because we are doing some big changes to our current blog!
