Internet, Exercise and Magnum PI

Internet, Exercise and Magnum PI

I haven't been online much. However, I got the internet finally set up correctly at my apartment. I have been working a lot on my Real Estate work, I'm trying to finish everything and take my licensing exam in June.

Other than working, and doing hmwk, I have belive it or not committed to the "work out everyday" rule so far. My friend and I started out walking, now we are jogging/walking 2- 2.5 miles each day. Eventually I want jogging to become a hobby or daily routine that I ACTUALLY enjoy. But...it's not that bad. The first day jogging was kind of tough, but it's true... the more you run the easier it becomes...

I also have decided since my last Clinic went so well, I should really try to stay on top of doing all my treatments and see just how much lung function I can gain by July! During all (4 morning, 2 afternoon, and 3 Evening nebs)my treatments I normally read. Lately though I have been watching Magnum PI episodes. I need to get season 3 though...

I NOTICED:
At the top of the screen it says the date it aired (early 1980s) and I remembered my mom telling me she would rush home from work on Tuesdays to watch Magnum! She nevered missed it. It''s weird knowing at exactly 6pm on those dates on the screen that my mom watched the same show I was about to watch!

That's all for now. We'll see if the work pays off in July at my next Dr.'s Appt!

Post- Surgery Appointment

Post Surgery Appt: As you prolly know, I had Laparoscopic Triple Hernia Surgery last Tuesday. Here was a picture of me devouring a piece of bread so I could go home afterward the surgery (4 hours post surgery and 20 mins post waking up from recovery). I was ready to go home! Today I had my post surgery check up. He said everything in the surgery went well and besides the finding the 3rd hernia there were no surprises. He pointed out where the staples/stitches (they are holding the mesh in place) are in me. I have two on each side at the end of the mesh (so 4 on top) and two down farther in my groin. Apparently, I just have one huge piece of mesh that runs the width and length of my whole abdomen/groin area. Bahaha. I am Inspector Gadget after all. He said a few more weeks before I can lift stuff or exercise. Also, he said the area where the staples are will hurt when bending or twisting. However, I only notice really when I twist or turn too fast. Overall, it was a nice appoint...

The Stork Came!

It finally happened!!! The Stork came to our house!! We had 3 kids placed with us (on August 4th) Friday afternoon. Luckily, Andrew was able to take off Friday-Monday (Aug 4th-7th) to be home as we all adjust the first few days. He then worked 8th-12th, but we needed him back home more until the kiddos started school. So took a full second week off, because it was really rough ! Big thanks to Culvers & Phil for allowing us time we needed. I love having kids in the house, but it's a lot of appointments for these kiddos at first. . For privacy reasons, I will never use their names or post pictures of them.  I have made fake names for these posts. When they called I was a little nervous to take 3 kids at once, especially since I have Cystic Fibrosis. We had agreed on only 2 originally. But, the lady explained the 3 of them really needed somewhere. Most foster parent's don't take sibling groups and it is really rare to find one that will take three, so our hearts wanted to ...

End of Summer -Updates!

Wow, I can't believe it's been a year since we moved our blog to www.MoreThanDNA.org! A lot has happened in that year. My husband and I became Foster Parents to some amazing kiddos and still have one of those kiddos living with us. We have loved having "Shoes" with us and can't believe how much he has grown and learned in the year!I'm so proud of him! We have court next week, so prayers that it goes okay (and doesn't get continued again- that just drags it out longer for the kids). He is now 39 months old and starting Pre-K this month! Other big changes include: Some renovation to our home (complete Bath rehab & updated plumbing throughout), I started a new gene-targeting medication (symdeko) that is helping to keep me stable these last 3 months, and I got an AffloVest! I'm loving my new portable vest! Also, career wise...we both switched jobs! Andrew also started Seminary this summer to get a Masters Degree in Divinity. He has always wanted to be ...
