Whew, that was tough.

Tonight's lil adventure:

I have jogged very little since my 5K in Sept. I've been really busy with my new job and haven't had much time. I was thinking tonight how disappointed I was in myself for not sticking with Jogging 3 x a week. What's another half hour to my medical routine.

So I did it. I went out and jogged tonight, for first time in probably almost a month. It's cold out now, which is horrible. I got about 3 blocks and realized my lungs were already hurting. Oh well, Turn the music up, breathe into my shirt sleeve off and on, and repeat in my head "MUST BRING UP LUNG FUNCTION, MUST BRING UP LUNG FUNCTION" I hate giving up and I hate letting CF define what I can do. So I kept running. I jogged a mile tonight. Its not 2 or 3, but at least it was 1 mile. I probably jogged 95% of it. I did it in roughly 10 minutes.

It is a good starting point to getting back into the swing of jogging. I need to get it through my head that jogging is JUST AS IMPORTANT as my meds. I don't want to let my doctor, family, and friends down at my next clinic. But I also don't want to let myself down. If I lose even just 1% at my next clinic, I will have to work twice as hard the following three months to get back what I lost. Gaining lung function isn't a sprint, its a marathon. A marathon I'm going to finish, by reaching my goal in lung function or higher :-)

At my clinics I want to know I have been working the hardest possible AND like I have been for the last 2 years, I want to keep on this upward trend of improving my lung function. I'm at 61% and I want to be 63% at my next clinic. Jogging can help me reach that, so here starts my jogging again. I wish I lived in Hawaii... lol

  1. I have a really hard time staying consistent with jogging, too! It sucks now because by the time I get home from work at 5:00, it's already dark out. Good luck and I hope you're able to keep up with it! :-)

    1. Yeah, my town is tiny and safe to run at all hours. BUT running in the dark = me falling into potholes on my street... lol But thanks and you too! I'd love to do the Turkey Trot, but depends how much I do in the next 2 wks.

Tech-savvy Thursday- new look!

New Look: Getting Tech-Savvy: Since, I'm getting more involved in blogging, I decided it was time to give my blog a makeover! eMake-overs are always fun, whether you getting a new hair style, or outfit at the mall. However, I've been researching a lot about blogs and social networking. And I thought it may be time to update my blog's look.      I think I like my new one (at the top) a lot better than the old one (pictured on right). What do you think? I wanted my blog to feel more personal and I wanted to make it more tech-savy. I kept the black/purple color scheme. But made the purple the main color instead (and made it a softer purple). I then started looking up how to make my own buttons, widgets, etc. It isn't too hard to find tutorials for anything these days, between google, pinterest, and forums, you can pretty much find instructions for anything. I used a simple code and photobucket to make my own buttons: I think my new Tw...
