Tonight's Weddings!


Today/Tonight I had two weddings. My cousin's was first. It was in Peoria and it had a nice break between the wedding and reception. Which was the perfect amount of time for a Starbucks Stop. YUM! Then my family went to my cousin's reception. We then left to drive an hour and 10 minutes to the next wedding. Of course, Ada and Mom drove in  Ada's car from Peoria (Mom stayed in Peoria for 2 days visiting my sister) and I drove Dad to the reception, cuz Mom had their van. It was weird us driving our parents and in seperate cars. But it is nice having one-on-one chat time with Dad.

At my cousin's wedding, there were soooo many family members I wanted to catch up with!I talked a lot(shocker...I know...LOL). However, I tend to lose my voice quite often (1. when I talk too much and don't have enough sleep, and when I start a nebulizer-TOBI). Of course, today I did all 3. I stayed up late last night with some friends, then started the nebulizer today, AND I talked a lot at the reception.


 [Truth Moment: I missed my afternoon and evenings therapies, but sometimes it just happens. I allow it for certain events (very rarely). But tomorrow, I'm doing them ALL! ]

Dad and I get in my car (to leave the first reception) and I tell him "I don't think I'm going to be able to talk the rest of the night, if I want my voice back for work tomorrow." Dad's Response: "YES! (fist pump).  Of course, he had to listen to my music the whole time, since we were in my car :-)

Both Weddings were very fun and beautiful! I was excited to see my sister and give her the little gift I got her when I was on vacation. Plus, I got to wear my dress (it was a present and I hadn't had a chance to wear it yet), I got to talk to relatives I hadn't seen in years, AND I got to dance with cutest guy at the reception,
(note: he is 4 yrs old and calls me "sheesh") I miss babysitting the lil guy.  He was ADORABLE singing Michael Jackson songs! He really got into dancing too!

Great Day, Great Weekend! and hopefully my voice will come back for work tomorrow! Congrats to Jessica and Nick and Allison and Jerad!!!!!

How Fostering and CF impact my work

I haven't been on my blog much.... I think that is because most of my blogging is currently been done on Health Union's Cystic-Fibrosis.com (here is link to all my posts on their site: https://cystic-fibrosis.com/members/cherizkunkel/ ). I decided last fall to step away from real estate after 3 years in the business. It was tough to say good-bye, especially since I had tripled my volume and business in the last year. However, I didn't have time to add any new clients; I kept saying, maybe next week, next month I can fit more work into my schedule. The truth is fostering takes a lot of time. We have between 5-8 monthly visits at the agency, 1 court ate a month, 2 home visits from the caseworker a month, plus e have 2-3 doctors/specialist appointments for our current kiddo. We have lots of paperwork we fill out, gas mile logs, receipts to add, and more! Our kiddo also participates in gymnastics and dance two nights a week. Why I Hope this Hospital Stay is Different

Typically, I've been very stable as an adult. I'm very lucky for that stability. However, 2018 started out nowhere near where I wanted. I was admitted mid March for a virus. We aren't sure what virus I had (every test came back negative). However, I had a consistent fever over 102 the entire 5 days I was in the hospital. Once I was fever free for 24 hours and I started eating better, they let me return home. I was excited to leave and get back to my everyday life. But, considering now a month later (and re-admitted), I think I should of just done a two week tune-up last month while I was in already. Live and learn. As you know (I'm sure) I have been trying to get my lung function back up to around 55-60%. 60% is my goal and it really is the highest my lung function can get, due to all the permanent scarring. Circle of Dreams

The Circle of Dreams Every little kid has a dream, to go somewhere, meet someone, have something... I had the privilege of being granted a dream by the Central Illinois Dream Factory! I was 10 yrs old when they came to my house to ask me what I wanted.. She asked " Cheriz, what one thing do you want most in world?" I respond" a Mr. Potato Head Pillow!" She goes" Cheriz, anything bigger, something for the yard, go on a trip, meet anyone?" I go " You MEAN I CAN HAVE A COMPUTER? They have them at school and it is my favorite thing and I have been saving all my money for one (I ran down and brought out my "doggy" bank and showed her)" She goes " Sure and what games do you like?"
