Awesome Chipmunk Choir

Doctors Appointment..

It's so soon...my Clinic ( or Doc appt, Since Dr. B hates the term "clinic", ever since he quit the clinic and started a Private Practice)...

He wanted me to gain weight & improve on lung function...easy...ha ha.

He broke it down into do all nebs, the VEST (which is what I tend to skip), and start jogging or biking etc...

I have been doing very good with my morning med routine, but night routines..I skip a few, not gonna lie. However, that is why I have been blogging more and on FB more... I can type and read a computer screen while doing my nebs and vest..

Why do I skip my vest? Its hilarious, it makes no sense to skip it. You see incase you don't know
what I'm talking  bout....           (This black vest inflates and shakes me)

Yep, it shakes me. So I know lots of CFers who sing while doing their vest, it makes our voices sound high pitched and weird...
(I'm not one of them....*whistles & tries to look innocent)

Seriously I shuold post one on youtube...lol. Here is one I found..
She reminds me of myself at that age!

(I'm a bit of a movie nut, so forgive me) BUT you know in My Best Friend's Wedding... the day of the Wedding in the background of the one scenes, there's a shot of 3 guys singing harmony after sucking in some balloons' helium.... ---> kinda sounds like that...

So have you heard of  "The Virtual Choir" that Eric Whitacre formed?
http://ericwhitacre.com/blog/the-virtual-choir-how-we-did-it

I think he should have a choir with all people (CFers, Asthmatics, etc) who use the vest, to perform! Ha ha ha. It would sound hilarious. And yes, you can do harmony while shaking in the vest. It has been done before...

Meds done, I'm going to bed!

Cystic Fibrosis Clinic Results. Not what I wanted, but...

My Results: I went down in lung function 2% points and lost  a couple more lbs. So I'm at 102. I was really disappointed with myself. I know that I have been doing  my meds and I have been doing my stomach feeding most nights too.  I have been making the right decisions and all my friends have been very supportive. I bring my nebulizers over to their houses to do them if we are hanging out, etc. It just wasn't enough this clinic. I really thought there would be a slight increase. However, I haven't been jogging since it is cold outside. And I know waitressing has been making it hard to gain weight. Plus, its winter. It is always harder for me to stay healthy in the winter. Dr. B was still pleased. He said "I should give myself a break, I have been doing everything he asked, I ran a 5K, and I'm still doing well." And that is true 2% increase isn't a huge decrease, only if I continue to decrease then there is a problem. Dr. B told me that I need to focus...

First blog: Hello

My first Blog: A little About Me I'm not sure why I have decided to start a blog, however, here I am.  I have honestly thought about writing about my life for years, but have always chickened out. I have finally decided to share the experiences life has thrown at me. The biggest reason I have been asked to blog by people is because of everything I have dealt with medically. I have Cystic Fibrosis and a few other medical problems...This is probably the best reason why I should blog. I can relate to others who are dealing with medical problems, however,my CF is also why I did not want to write this blog. CF can be embarssing and annoying sometimes... but it  has helped define who I have become to be as a person. Therefore, (yes, even though I want it cured) I don't hate having CF. Let me start off with some basic info and statements. I'm 26 yrs old and have dealt with CF all my life. In this blog you will hear recent stories (good, bad, embarassing); a...

Inspector Gadget Parts. Malfunction.

I tend to joke I'm an Xmen (since I have mutated DNA) and that my weird medical devices are my inspector gadget parts. Go-go-gadget automatic IV Line. Convenient? I'd say so.The next day I have off from work that I don't have school I am going to make my appointments for that day. I just hope it is within the next few weeks. You may remember me blogging a couple weeks ago about some problems I have been having with my mediport (automatic IV line that is in my chest) and my g-tube (my stomach feeding tube). Well I need to have a surgeon look at the G-tube to see what size I need to put in. Dr.B thinks the one I have may not be the right size.  Which, I'm not looking forward to changing it again, BUT I get the new style tube (the mini) which is smaller and thinner, so it is easier to hide under a bandaid. I'm looking forward to not taping gauze around my G-tube anymore. Its really hard to hide that sometime and it is impossible in swimsuits. Plus, scraping off ta...
